Where can I buy a rubber/plastic rain coat?

Not the cotton type mac, but one that has the pu coating to make it shiny so that the rain just runs off.

Any ideas?

No kinky answers please, this is a genuine question.

I've seen some on PO lately, I know it's not good enough, but they work :)

Apart from this, try Woolworth's

Primark

dollar store

seriously!!

primark but for nicer ones h&m

eBay's good.

Contact Columbia and see if they have patching materials to fix the coat. They're really good about it.

Where can I buy a rain coat and rain pants with hood or hat?

I got a new job and will be taking the bus every day so I'll need rain gear but I can't find it any where. I saw some on Sears web site but when I ordered them I got an email back saying that they were out and not getting any more in...canceling my order. An umbrella just doesn't do the job on windy days.

You can buy them from http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&keywords=raincoat&tag=189-20&index=apparel&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325

Why when I wear a yellow spring jacket in the spring everyone assumes its a rain coat?

Just because I have a yellow jacket on doesn't mean that it is a rain jacket. Is it because people don't have a sense of fashion?

I like yellow...and I have NO sense of fashion. I just think of it as a sunny day color.

I don't think fashion has anything to do with it...you either like it or you don't.

We've also been brought up to think certain things about certain colors. Like green means Go or is environmentally good and so on.

And it's common to think of a yellow coat as a raincoat because that's what we've been brought up to think. The color yellow was used because it shows up better in the middle of a storm...day or night. Same as a lot of orange is being used.

I guess my yellow T-shirt means caution when I'm in the kitchen and so people can get out of my way.

He he he...

Hey in most places if you wear a yellow jacket...they can think that you are a crossing guard or something. I wear a black jacket at work and will sometimes wear it out somewhere else because I am in uniform and people think I am a police officer and I am a security officer. They ask me about handcuffs and guns...I don't carry them! I do make sure never to indentify myself as nothing but a security officer.

No...it's because they don't have a sense of humor.

That seems to be the way we're conditioned.

Is trench coat and a rain coat the same thing?

so basically, is trench coat water proof? but why don't they come with a hood!?!? who has the cutest rain/trench coat this year on sale?

They aren't the same thing. Most trenches are water resistant but not water proof like rain coats. Trenches are for colder windy weather while rain coats are for, well, rainy weather!

Rain coats are waterproof and trench coats are not. Forever 21 has really cute trenchcoats.:)

What brand is Bella's purple rain coat in Twilight?

I really like the rain coat that Bella is wearing when she's at La Push with Jacob and I can't figure out what the logo on her sleeve says. Does anyone know who makes it? It's really rainy where I go to school and I can never find a rain coat I like, but I love the one she's wearing!!!

and how the hell would we find that out?

The jacket is by Patagonia...as is her Khaki raincoat she wears throughout the film. Wendy Chuck (the costume designer) specified this in her IMDB board. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20081129000546AAc0fbI&kid=Mb5UBDS7WUpTATCKAWHr&s=comm&date=2009-01-23+17%3A46%3A34&.crumb=

i was at nordstrom rack and saw that north face has some cute ones similar to it (like same length and looks almost identical) but i dont think they have that style in purple.

oh idk, ill look out for the tag when i go c it tomorrow. again.

Can I super glue a piece of fabric on my nylon rain coat, and it will be ok?

My favourite rain coat is damaged, it was burnt at the back, and the only thing i can think of to fix it is to glue a piece of fabric with super glue on the burn and maybe sew it after to make stronger. Do you think it will be ok? It is a serious question honestly.

Use tear mender:

"Tear Mender is a natural latex cement that bonds to most fabrics. It is waterproof and U.V. resistant. Although Tear Mender touts itself as a fabric cement, we found its uses more impressive on nylon, rubber, naugahyde, etc. It seems to leave a visible shiny glaze on softer, more absorbent fabrics. We therefore recommend Tear Mender for your tents, boat covers, sleeping bags and rain gear. The Tear Mender people (Val-A) also sell a Tent-Mender and Jean-Mender kit, complete with fabric and glue. Tear Mender smells like dirty diapers because it has a high ammonia content, and although it is only slightly worse for you than changing dirty diapers, it should be used in a well ventilated area. Also, people with allergies to latex should not touch or use this product. Tear-Mender takes about 15 to 30 minutes to dry depending on application, and holds quite well on most synthetic materials. It remains flexible, and claims to survive extreme hot or cold temperature. Tear-Mender is a
vailable through their web-site (you can even request their instructional video!) , Television Suppliers, and some camping stores."

Good Luck!

If you can bet hold of some Wonder Web, that should sort all your problems out - it is like double sided sticky tape for fabric (sticks by using an iron on it) I would recommend getting a piece of fabric as close a match to your damaged coat as possiblle, and sticking it to the inside of the garment (not the outside) That way it will just cover the burn area without looking messy with too much extra fabric.Superglue will not work as it is not wash resistant, and puckers and leaves little bubbles and creases that you can never get out on the fabric.

If you're going to do something like that, at least use Seam Grip or similar waterproofing adhesive intended for rainwear.

Probably a better choice would be to take it to an alterationist and get them to repair it properly with fabric.

Some Seam-Grip like products:

http://www.rei.com/search?query=seam+&button.x=0&button.y=0

so long as the glue don't melt the plastic, it should be ok, try the glue on a corner piece, and see if it melts it, if not, it should be ok.

No super glue causing a burning reaction to clothes and make them start to have a smoke like vapor also it will harden and will just end up fallinf off.

no go and buy you some fabric glue . works great good luck .

yes, i have done it with a black nylon raincoat, worked fine. it depends though how big the hole is.

use fabric glue!

Ummm, well i'm sure it's good for the environment, but as a fashion statement, I'd give it a 2. Sorry, just my opinion.

It looks better than my rain coat!

And I love the fact that it is eco-friendly.

I'd give it a 4, it's simple but sometimes that's the best.
